Brume's adventures are varied in both environments and antagonists as well as in objectives to achieve: exploring a toxic lair, infiltrating the temple of a bloodthirsty sect, thwarting political plots, helping a community living in a snowy desert, and so many others.
Each planet has a unique environment and civilization, and each has its own political system, customs, and mentality.
- Humans: open-minded but unpredictable and always eager to travel.
- Vagryms: disciplined, collectivist, superstitious and nature-loving feline-men.
- Ecates: "humans" gifted with magic, rational, cultured but lazy.
- Melkiors: proud, hard-working, warmongering and courageous lizardmen.
- Aeganes: semi-elemental left apart, empathetic and playful but reckless.
Brume comes with a very accessible D20 system. You survived your Apotheosis, a psychic phenomenon that made you more powerful. This new force opens many opportunities, and grows as adventures go.
Play as a character from poverty or from a bourgeois family, play one of the 5 species that populate the universe, one of the 24 classes in the game or your own, use technology to your advantage and push the potential of your magical Element to its maximum.
Rules
Brume officially includes:
- Caustic Maw: a short adventure scenario set in a toxic lair.
- Cults of Atalante: a simple yet effective campaign about hunting down cultists before they accomplish the ultimate sacrifce in the benefit of their Living God.
- Luscious ale: a short scenario about a family of brewers who have lost their barrel of magic flavoured beer. They decide to investigate in the village and neighboring breweries.
I have written many other more or less finished scenarios, here are a few examples:
- Court of Serpents: a long campaign in which players, as followers of the Light, face a major political crisis. Challenges, low blows and plots are to be expected.
- Fractures of Calydon: a political scenario which involves an opposition between rebellious miners and the greedy owners of the quarries, themselves aided by the Watchers. All approaches are possible.
- Frosthaven: an roleplay-oriented scenario in which players must help a reclusive community in their haven in the middle of a snowy desert.
